Jennifer Buehner-Varley is a visual artist and educator; she joined Broad Room in early 2020. Her work is situated in themes of feminism and the decorative arts, with color and pattern, she playfully explores the paradoxes of power. Jennifer’s evolving use of folk art, decoration, color, and pattern are invitations that feel both seductive and alluring, yet she asserts that in the margins of social life people deserve a re-imaging of justice and power. Jennifer extends the possibilities of new voices with her work and shows there is a range of ways to enter difficult conversations.
